Privacy policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
This policy explains what data the ReelStats add-on for Google Sheets ("ReelStats", "we") accesses, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept. ReelStats is made by Prabhmeet Singh. Contact: prabhmeet@askmeet.info.
What ReelStats accesses
Your Google account
When you use ReelStats, Google gives the add-on a sign-in token that contains an anonymous account identifier. We use it only to verify that requests come from a real Google user and to apply each person's daily limit. ReelStats does not receive your name, email address, contacts, or any other Google account information.
The spreadsheet you open ReelStats in
ReelStats asks for permission to view and manage only the spreadsheet it is used in. It cannot open your other files. In that spreadsheet it:
- reads the cells you select (your video links),
- reads the first row to find the "Views" and "Likes" columns, and the cells in those columns for the selected rows,
- writes view and like counts, or a status such as "Checking…", "Unavailable" or "Hidden", into the Views and Likes columns,
- adds "Views" and "Likes" column headers if you click the button that asks it to.
It does not read, change, or delete anything else in your spreadsheet.
How your data is used
The video links you select are used for one purpose only: to look up the public view and like counts of those videos and write them into your sheet.
To do this, the add-on sends the video identifiers from your links (for example, the reel code or TikTok video number and creator handle) over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the ReelStats server, which uses a third-party web data provider to retrieve the publicly visible counts. Only the counts are returned to your sheet.
Short TikTok links (such as vm.tiktok.com/…) don't contain the video number, so the add-on opens each short link once on TikTok's servers to read the full video address it points to.
Who your data is shared with
- A web data provider that retrieves publicly available video statistics on our behalf. It receives the video links and returns the counts.
- A cloud hosting provider that runs the ReelStats server and processes requests in transit.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else, except where required by law. No person reads your links or results, except when needed to investigate abuse or security issues, or when required by law.
How long data is kept
- Your links and results: the ReelStats server does not store or log them. Our data provider temporarily stores each lookup's links and results while it runs. ReelStats deletes them from the provider as soon as your update finishes. If an update is interrupted (for example, you close the panel), it is deleted automatically within about 25 hours.
- Usage counts: to apply the daily limit, the server stores a one-way, salted hash of your anonymous account identifier together with how many videos you checked today. It is deleted the next day. A monthly total of videos checked by all users is also kept, with no personal information.
- Your spreadsheet: the counts written into your sheet stay there until you change or delete them.
Google API Services User Data Policy
ReelStats' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Requests are accepted only with a valid, Google-signed sign-in token. Our service credentials are kept on the server and never sent to your browser or spreadsheet.
Your choices
- You can stop using ReelStats at any time by uninstalling it from Google Sheets (Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons).
- You can remove its access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- For questions or deletion requests, email prabhmeet@askmeet.info.
Children
ReelStats is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
